Students develop the speaking skills necessary to both communicate with native English speakers and pursue their English-related academic and/or career goals. We help with the practical application of language, focusing on communication rather than content.                                                                     

In small, student-centered classes (a maximum of seven students): Improve correctness in speech through speaking development and practice labs; Improve communicating ideas in writing through individualized assignments and grading; Improve listening and understanding through interactive conversation.

With over 30 years of working experience, I have a characteristic style of observing, analyzing, planning, implementing, evaluating, training and sustaining. My work history is a record of achievement and advancement.

My education is from Southern Illinois University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. I minored with degrees in mathematics and music. I am a certified Engineer in Training (EIT) and while studying at the Carbondale campus I also worked as a paralegal tutor in math for learning disabled collegians. I am an authorized instructor for the OSHA 10 and 30 hour General Industry courses.

In addition to consulting, I work as a safety engineer for the Department of the Army.
